Free for ALL!

Earlier today I was pissed. I voted early last week and was glad to have taken care of it. But then I heard about all these businesses giving away freebies to people who showed their "I voted" sticker today. Well, if I would have known that I would have saved my stupid sticker! I thought about how I could have started off my day with a free coffee at Starbucks and a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme, then stopped by Chic-fil-a for a free chicken sandwich for lunch, and ended the day with a free scoop of ice cream from Ben and Jerry's. If only I would have waited until today to vote.

But then I came home and read online that what these businesses were doing could be considered a felony! Apparently it is considered a bribe. I totally don't see it that way. They are not encouraging you to vote for a particular candidate. They are just trying to get more people to vote, period. Why is that a bad thing? It's just a marketing ploy, not voter fraud! Get a grip people.

But anyway, from what I read all these places had to now extend their offers to everyone and not tie it to voters. So go out and get your free food while the gettin's good.

Me? It is raining and cold, so I'm probably just going to stay put now that I'm home. I'm all for free stuff, but it's been a long day!

You know I didn't make it to any of the free places yesterday. No coffee for me or anything. But I voted and that is what counts.
