I have been researching what I want to do while we are in DC and there is just so much! I am never going to be able to fit it all in. Here is the
To Dos in DC:
White House
US Capitol
International Spy Museum
US Holocaust Memorial
Smithsonian Museum of American History
National Air and Space Museum
Reynolds’s Center (National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum)
Arthur M Sackler Gallery & Freer Gallery of Art
Dupont Circle (this is right where we are staying)
Embassy Row
Washington National Cathedral
National Geographic Society Explorers Hall
National Zoo
National Mall (lots of stuff here)
· National Cherry Blossom Fireworks Show
· Tidal Basin Paddle Boat Rides
· Thomas Jefferson Memorial
· Washington Monument
· FDR Memorial
· Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall
· Lincoln Memorial
· WWII Memorial
· Korean War Veterans Memorial
Arlington National Cemetery
Georgetown
Ben’s Chili Bowl
The Old Post Office Pavilion
Union Station
National Archives Houses
I know there is no way to fit all this in, but this is my list right now. The only main ones I know on the final list for sure are the National Mall with all those monuments and Georgetown for dinner one night. So what else is a must see?

The Holocaust Museum is a MUST see. It will take you several hours to go through. Get your tickets in advance online (its about $1.50 a ticket to reserve) rather than wait in line once you get here.
Waiting to get in to see the Capitol might also not be worth it unless you are *really* interested.
Skip the Spy Museum. It's about $12 (I think) and so not worth the money or the time. I'm also not a huge fan of the Air and Space Museum.
If you are into art, the National Gallery or the Hirshorn museums are great.
Hey! I actually did a post about my favorite DC things to do.... Some of the picture links don't work anymore but it's here: http://wasitforthis.blogspot.com/2008/07/dc-top-10.html
Ughh I'm just getting caught up on your blogging. Sorry I keep forgetting! Ok so this is the best place for Italian food if you go to Germantown.
