My birthday is Friday. I will turn 31. Guess what. The list is still not complete. At this rate I will be 40 before I finish. I'm trying not to think about it too much.
I hate birthdays. I'm trying not to be so negative about it because really it is just another day and you feel no different than the day before. Whatever. I took the day off and I am going to the mountains for the weekend with my friends to go white water rafting, so hopefully nothing terrible can happen. I still might have a breakdown about getting older and not being where I thought I would be, but I will try to do that in private to spare everyone from my negativity.
But I did get the best birthday present ever from my mom this year! Bamboo hardwood floors! They are going in on Wednesday. At least I will be able to mark #18- upgrade one room in my house, off my list!
I also got a bonus at work and bought my very first TV. I had never bought a TV before. I inherited a huge, heavy, monstrous, wood encased TV from my Grandpa back in 1999 and I finally sold it last Thursday. I almost shed a tear seeing the empty space it left in the living room. I'd had that TV for 12 years! I hope the Hells Angel that bought it for $20 off my craigslist ad enjoys it! And thank goodness I will never ever have to move that thing again because it is seriously as heavy as a freaking piano!
Question of the day- Birthdays: love them, hate them, or indifferent?

We have the same Bday! I'm turning 30 on Friday. Sorta freaked out about it.
Congrats on the bonus :)
Birthday's suck. They just do! 30 came and went for me on April 17th. I laid in bed, sick as a dog because of my not-meant-to-be pregnancy. That is how I will always remember my 30th birthday. Gives me a reason to look forward to 40... On a positive side, you should now know that you are the same you that you were on your 29th birthday, you just have a lot more confidence and experience under your belt. You will be the same wonderful person at every stage in life. With or without a man!!!!
I found your blog after having a bit of a freak out about turning 30 in a couple of years and you have inspired me to start my own 30 by 30 list. Good luck finishing the list - I may still be working on mine when I'm 40 too! x
I felt the same way when I turned 30 back in December, but I'm past that now. I doubt I'll get much on my list done before 31, but at least the challenge is there.
What a great gift from your mom! Last year my mom got me Crest whitening strips and I was excited :)
I do love birthdays, only because it gives me one day where I don't have to feel guilty about doing whatever I want. Most years, I plan a full day of new experiences, trying at least 7 new things. It has been memorable and a ton of fun!
Happy Birthday! (It's still Friday here on the West Coast.)
